The Essential Business Survival Guide To Keep Your Business Going In Hard Times
14 June 2022I took this picture with a lot of emotion on Monday 9th September 2019. The family in the background is about to cut the cake for their children. The young man in the foreground stands there staring at them for about 6 minutes. He hawks pancakes and eggs. He looks to be 8-10yrs. He is wearing patched brown shorts (which appear to be used formerly as school uniform) with worn-out plastic sandals (Sandaka?). His face is pale but with evident determination to make ends meet.
He later walked away and went about his business only to come back two more times and each time he would stare at this family. The third time, he happened to be on time as they cut the cake. The long-awaited time finally came, the family cut the cake after numerous pictures in all angles were taken.
The two main celebrants clad in white attire were vividly excited and couldn’t wait to devour this out-of-the-world cake. As they cut the cake, he (the pictured young man ) smiled subtly and nodded, stared a little more and walked away. I had tears almost rolling out of my eyes.
I think the family didn’t notice. I wish they gave him a piece.
This touched my heart a lot. There are many things we take for granted. We all have our backgrounds, some of them were very challenging while others were awesome. As we grow up, we tend to take some things for granted and yet these things mean the world to other people.
We have got to wake up daily and be grateful to God. We have to do something little to help those who are less fortunate. Stay humble and be nice to others and most importantly know that all earthly things come to an end.
We have a purpose in life and may God show us this purpose and give us the energy, resources, and wits to fulfill this purpose. We’ve got to make a difference in this world.
Kudos to all those who are doing their very best to help others in one way or the other. May God abundantly bless you. We all can do something; we can pray for each other, we can offer a hand whenever we can and we can choose to be good to the other people unless they give us a reason to be otherwise.
Who are you going to help today?
PS: Arrangements have been made to make a cake for this young man. We shall go look for him on Saturday and let him have his own cake to cut.
