18 June 2022In one of our recent training, an active participants asked, Ethan, what are you doing at a personal level to manage stress?
This question targeted things that was being done at individual basis to curb stress. That meant that the reflections and activities I engage in on a daily basis to stay upon my game with happiness and extra joy in my family, life and work. Below are the simple but realistic ways on how I go about it.
Number one: I am utilizing this time to spend and play a little more with my daughter since I’m at home. I play along with my family especially my young daughters. So you know with young children they lead the stress away.
Two: I’m exercising more than ever before because when you exercise you get your heart rate up. Exercising makes you fit and boosts your mental health. Have some push-ups,and jog a bit more.
Three: I’m investing in myself much more. What do I mean by that? I mean distinctive products, coaching products, audio and videos reading a lot. I have more coaches now than before because I believe investing in yourself is the biggest investment right now. What I mean by that is if you do not invest in yourself. when this thing ends then by the time you get back on what you are behind so encouraging one of my latest coaching clients.
Four: Keeping on a high. Waiting is not a strategy nor hoping, you have to be on the front foot, so me being able to feed myself on different ideas and different concepts from people I respect and appreciate is something I’ve found extremely powerful.
Five: I make sure that I am expressing gratitude every single day looking for things to be grateful for. I minimize the consumption of news because when you listen to a lot of news and all that then that becomes extremely discouraging to you and that lowers your knowledge and capacity to manage stress.
Six: I’m controlling what I’m focusing on to focus on things that matter, think of solutions and brilliant ideas. I’m not even on whatsapp you will be shocked but if I was on whatsapp I would limit how much I’m consuming important content.
Seven: I am sleeping more because with more when you have no more hours of sleep then it gives you the energy and a capacity to manage whatever else is going on. And I make sure I eat the basics.
